11;1-9
1.
Blessed
with being prophetic
As I move through town and I look at the posters, I see one of
the ministry gifts, prophet, as a title on the names of several preachers. But
I see that though they have it as title they are not been blessed by it as they
should. Proverbs 18; 16 says, ‘a man’s gift makes room for him and brings him
before the great’. This short message will show you how to get the most of your
gift. For there are people who’s gift are not as powerful as yours and yet are
in higher benefits.
2.
The Lord
has his agenda
For a recap of the scripture above, Jesus sends his disciples
to go for a donkey; he travels on it to Jerusalem into the temple. The first
lesson we learn here is that God has an agenda. It is that agenda that made him
send for the colt. Hebrews 10; 7 makes us to understand that there is a book in
heaven in which is written God’s agenda about us. We must make his vision real
on earth.
3.
We
are the colt
We are the colt here. It is for us that Christ came to die for
and when you get born-again you belong to God. God owns us. The Spirit of God
lives in us and rides us; he uses us for the work of God. He is the power that
‘worked’ in us.
4.
The
mantle, ‘cloth’ is placed on us
When the donkey was brought to Jesus a cloth was cast on it
just like when Elijah cast the cloth upon Elisha. This is a mantle of
responsibility for the donkey. The donkey is known as a beast of burden. We
carry the burden of the Lord; we are to carry the cross. That is why when you
come to Christ you have to take the burden that he has for you. Empty yourself
and let him change what he wants to and let him add what he wants.
5.
Your
blessing is at a ‘Jerusalem’; location
Jesus traveled on the colt to Jerusalem. There is a place
where God has anointed for you. There are people in Ghana who have prospered
more than their brethren who travelled to Europe. It is not just any location,
there is no ideal location. The best location is the one that the Lord has
‘anointed’ for you. Jesus couldn’t do miracles in his own ‘home’. Not every
location is good for you. Find God’s digital and physical location for you.
6.
Be a
solution; service to temple
Jesus travelled to Jerusalem to the temple to offer his
service. You have to use your gift to offer a service. Be a solution to
somebody. That is how you can maximize and get the most out of your gift. Your
greatness depends on your gift. It is not just the gift but how well you use to
solve people’s problems for them.
7.
Red
carpet treatment
I noticed a powerful benefit here. It was not Jesus who walked
on the cloth cast on the ground but the donkey. If you allow Jesus to use you,
you will have red carpet treatment. You will eat from his work. You will drive
some of the car and own some of the houses. Nothing is hard for the Lord.
8.
Meet
the crowd
The
donkey also was exposed to the crowd. Customers are the life blood of every
business. What is a church without members? The members bring the money,
manpower and even without them your dreams can never be realized. But when you
carry the vision of the Lord inside you, he will expose you to people who will
bless you. You can’t do it alone, not even God. He needs us and we need people.
