The Life of the Prophet
The power of the prophetic p1
 ….believe and remain steadfast to His prophets and you shall prosper.  2 Chronicles 20; 20 AMP
King Agrippa, do you believe the prophets? Do you give credence to God’s messengers and their words? I perceive and know that you do believe.  Acts 26; 27 AMP

Many people limit the Prophet to their office and gifts. They call the gift the prophet. But there is more to the prophet than his gifts.

For every prophet the Lord has a CUSTOMIZED life that he wants you to lead. If you succeed in living that life then you operate at your best, however, if you fail at it, you could be a mediocre. When you look at the Old Testament prophets like Elijah, Elisha, etc all of them had a peculiar way of living.

There is the standard life of the prophet and there is a customized life of the prophet. For instance, every prophet should be able to live in the spirit all the time through fasting and prayers; you don’t know when the emergency or attack will come. This is a life and should not be an event in your life.

A prophet who doesn’t pray except when he is going for a programme will have a weak ministry. However, an example of a customized life could be that one prophet should do business alongside the work of God while the Lord will have the other not do anything at all except his work. Either way the Lord will make his grace available to both prophets. Even where a prophetic is located and the people he ministers to, his links to other ministers have been pre ordained and customized.

The LIFE OF THE PROPHET is the foundation of the prophet and everything fits within it. It allows for your prayer life, and the kind of people you minister to and even how you operate; this is why all prophets are not the same.

Before you limit a prophet to his gifts alone look at these areas;

·         His foundation ; destiny, living in spirit, knowledge, gift, practice, opportunity, how he is built up, family, early training, prayer life, education etc

·         Gifts; his office which has any of the three revelation gifts in addition to prophecy
·         His depth of commitment; what is his level of holiness and prayer life, it greatly determines his ability to help you.

·         Experience and practice; a prophet with much experience would have rehearsed over and over again and has handled your situations many times and know how to deal with it easily.

·         Ministrations; the operations of the gifts of the spirit and how it is directed including their uniqueness and the problems they are able to solve sums up the prophet’s ministrations. This is the crux of your deliverance; it is the solution center because it shows how effective he is at being a solution to you.

·         Ability to relate to people; it is quite easy to have a prophet as a close pal and yet get into trouble without him or her seeing. If a prophet is your friend, this friendship should greatly help you.

Don’t forget these words; if you limit a prophet to his gifts, you are limiting his impact over your life.

The depth of a prophet is far reaching; it can help you rise up and fulfill your destiny and even bless your family and relatives. Elijah blessed the widow who was going to die from the famine, he made Elisha’s call a reality, he   fought on behalf of Israel by dealing with Jezebel and Ahab, and he inspired the young prophets to carry on with their ministry. The list is endless. You can have all these benefits at a go if you know how to relate to the prophet and thou Prophet, have you discovered your depth? You are a gold mine that can be mined and you will never finish exploiting everything within. You go deeper and may you die empty.

To be continued.

Stay blessed.
