This is one of the best messages you
will ever get to know being a Christian. A lot of ignorance lies on our pulpits
today. The pure Word has been discarded and mere stories are being told. It is
my prayer that certain spiritual scales will fall off your eyes that you may
see clearly what God has in store for you now! Amen!
Ephesians 3:20
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly
above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.
The above scripture can be broken down into two (2).
First, we are being told that God is able
to do exceeding abundantly and
secondly, according to the power that
worketh in us. It means that God does not only do but He is able to do more
than we can ever ask or imagine as a result of a working power in us. There is
a certain power of God that is at work in the Believer whether he or she is
aware of it or not. That power is more than able to make God work on behalf of
the person that whatever petition or desire or need is brought before Him
becomes accomplished.
This will throw more light on this discourse!
Jeremiah 32:27
Behold, I am the LORD, the
God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?
Absolutely not! There is nothing too hard or difficult
for God to do on behalf of His children. Why? Because we are being made to
understand from the Scripture above that He is more than able to do more
according to the power that is at work in us.
Allow me to stir up your conscience and provoke you
into thinking now. My concern is that, if there is nothing too hard or
difficult for God (in that He is able to do exceeding abundantly more than we
can ever ask or imagine Him to do) why then does it sometimes looks like this more-than-able
to-do God looks impotent that He cannot work on behalf of His children?
The answer is simple – unbelief! Suffice it to say, a
lot of unbelief exist in many so-called believing hearts of some Christians.
There are a lot of Unbelievers in Christian bodies calling themselves
Believers. Being a Christian is as a result having faith in the finished works
of Christ on the cross and continuing to believe in Him and His Word.
Now, take some time and look at the caption of our
discussion very well. It reads, THE IMPOTENCY OF GOD. Is our God
impotent? A big No! Permit me to say here that the exercising or the expression
of our faith or confidence in Him and His Word is a must MUST!
That powerful power of God encapsulated in us which
releases God to do exceeding abundantly on our behalf and for us is only
provoked by the exercising of our faith. That power is faith activated in that
it continues to remain silently in us until faith fans it into flames. This
same locked power is what releases everything we want from God.
Our world today and the devil are trying hard to make
Believers trust in the words of men more than the very words of God. Many have
believed in certain reports of men concerning their health, family, business
etc and have since ceased to see the good picture and future God has for them. It
had always been onslaughts from the pit of Hell to make of none effect the
written and the spoken words of God. It’s high time Believers cease to listen
to the noises of men’s words and take seriously the voice of God. Prophet
Isaiah cried,
Who hath believed our report?
and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? (Isaiah 53:1).
Apostle Paul also re-echoed,
‘God forbid: yea, let God be
true, but every man a liar…’ (Romans 3:4)
I also over head a preacher saying, ‘Never trust a man who has faeces in his
stomach’. God’s report concerning you is above any medical report or any
other report of men; the reason being that God is always true and men always
lie. I encourage you to lift your faith up and reach out to Him for If we receive the witness of men, the
witness of God is greater…(1 John 5:9).
Be encouraged Beloved reader because God is able to do
more than you can ever ask or think of Him to do for you; your problems and
challenges notwithstanding, something still remains standing for you – His faithfulness
that He can never lie!
God is never an impotent God but a lack of faith in
Him or failure to express our confidence in Him and His Word renders Him
impotent that this more-than-able-to-do God is not able to do anything on our
behalf. I once wrote,
God is incredibly potent but
becomes incredibly impotent by our unbelief!
What this means is that, God doesn’t need faith. He is
faith and faith emanates from Him. He lives in faith and faith revolves around
Him; He lives in that realm. That is His domain. The Believer on the hand needs
faith to operate in His realm of faith to see the potency side of God brining
His unadulterated Word to pass in the
life of that individual.
Though very potent, God cannot do anything outside
faith for the Believer. That is the reason why we serve a potent God but looks
so impotent in the life of other Christians. The failure is that they are not
able to grow in Him to come to the point or realm in Him that qualifies them to
access the things in stored for them in Him.
Though God doesn’t need faith because He is faith, the
Believer must exercise his/her faith in Him before He can step into action on
their behalf, for he that cometh to God
must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek
him. (Heb. 11:6).
Unbelief is a spirit and it comes from the devil. It
is specially designed by him (the devil) to rob the child of God of his/her
inheritance in God. Unbelief must never be taken for granted. It must be hated
like the devil himself (it’s strange most Believers even love the devil and
have him as a friend) and be cast out!
A man’s unbelief limits him/her. God is not able to do
anything for that individual though He wants to do. Don’t you know though Jesus
had wanted to heal every sickness and diseases of the people, it’s not everything
He did?
Hear this,
And he could there do no
mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.
And he marvelled because of
their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching. (Mark 6:5,6).
Watch carefully. The Bible didn’t say as of Jesus
that, And He would not do but said,
And He could not. There is a big
difference between would not and could not. Would not will mean He decided not to do but Could not means He tried but was not successful all boiling down to
their unbelief. They were limited!
How come a potent God becomes incredibly impotent that
He cannot do what He had wanted to do or wanted to do amongst His chosen ones
because of their unbelief? At the end it was the people who lost not Him, and
many a Believers have missed God and certain miracles and blessings have eluded
them because of unbelief. It is time to deal with unbelief as a sin because it
is a sin. It’s now time to reflect the potency of God in your walk with Him by
learning to exercise your faith in Him and His Word. Believe and confess the
picture of good health, success and blessings God has for you in His Word and
you will without delay experience them!
God bless you!
In my next article, I shall share with you on The
Dangers of Unbelief.
Want to hear from you if this has blessed you.
